Three UG cadres arrested

Imphal, June 05 2011: Combined forces of Imphal West District Police Commandos and Assam Rifles arrested three UG cadres in the past two days from different areas of Imphal West, according to a statement of Senior SP, Imphal West.

One KCP (Noyon) cadre was arrested from Lamshang Bazar today around 1.20 pm by a combined team of Imphal West Commandos and troops of 28 AR.

He was identified as Naoroibam Chaoba (32) son of N Ibobi of Mayang Langjing Taning.

He had earlier been arrested by Imphal West CDOs in 2008.Chaoba rejoined the party after he was released on bail last year.

He has admitted that he was involved in extorting money from Pradhans.

Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal West CDOs and troops of 10 AR apprehended two active cadres of PREPAK from Kakwa Naorem Leikai on June 4 around 9.45 am.

They were identified as Ningombam Lokeshore (42) of Thongju Part-II and Thongam Ibohal (46)also of Thongju Part-II.

They disclosed that they joined the party in 2009 through one SS Captain Kanto.

They were assigned to extort huge amounts of money from PWD contractors and shopkeepers for party funds.

One 9 mm pistol with one live round in the chamber and one live round of 9 mm ammunition in the magazine was seized from the possession of Lokeshore.
