Minor girl raped in CCpur, ZMA condemns

CCpur, April 05 2025: In yet another shocking incident a 10 year old girl was allegedly raped in the western side of Churachandpur town on Friday.

Sources said the incident marked the third of such disturbing crime on minor girls in the district this year.

The culprit, according to sources, have been arrested by the police but his identity is concealed for reasons best known to them.

Meanwhile, the Zomi Mothers' Association issued strong condemnation highlighting that the society is no more safe and made an appeal to fight jointly by all sensible citizens and root out such criminals from the society.

ZMA urged the authorities for strongest forms of punishment to the culprit.

It will no more tolerate such crimes and punishments like keeping the culprits in judicial custody, adding that the wrath of the public has reached intolerable limits and it might cause law and order problems.

It also issued a strong condemnation while stressing the need for protecting minor girls.

Records maintain with the district hospital informed that 3 cases of rape have been registered this year, two in 2021, 11 in 2022, two cases in 2023 and another 9 cases in 2024 .
