Kangpokpi, April 05 2017: World Tuberculosis Day was observed today by District Health Society Kangpokpi at DC office complex, Kangpokpi DHQs.

Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi district T Ranjit (IAS) graced the occasion as chief guest while Chief Medical Officer, Kangpokpi Dr Th Surchandra Singh attended as guest of honour and Assistant Programme Officer of State TB Cell, Directorate of Health Services Manipur Dr Y Birendra Singh was functional president.

Apart from DLOs, ASHA workers and other health workers of the district, Additional DC Kangpokpi H Balkrisna, District Tuberculosis Officer Kangpokpi Dr L Joykumar Singh, SDC (HQs) Kaigoulal Kipgen and Senior MO i/c CHC Kangpokpi Dr H Khamkhanpau Simte also attended the function.

Emphasizing the need to enlighten and educate the people about the epidemic, T Ranjit Singh said that the World TB Day observation in Kangpokpi is a very important day for the newly created district.

The IAS officer appealed to the authority concerned and more particularly the public to actively participate, support and motivate all activities and programs which targets to eradicate the disease.
