Monetary aids extended to children

Imphal, January 05 2020:
Monetary aids were extended to 494 orphans and destitute children of Langthabal AC to cover their educational expenses today.
The programme at Lilong Chajing Mairenkhong Community Hall, organised by Langthabal Kendra Widow's Welfare Association (LKWWA), was attended by YAS Minister Letpao Haokip, CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam, Waqf Board Manipur Chairman Md Fajur Rahim, LJP Langthabal president L Birenyaima and LKWWA president Leimapokpam Memthoi as presidium members.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, Letpao Haokip encouraged the children and narrated stories of famous personalities who grew up as orphans.
Former South African President late Nelson Mandela grew up as an orphan, he said advising the children not to lose their hearts and feel neglected as many are looking after their well-being.
He lauded CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam for his contributions and assistance toward the children.
The monetary aids were made from the monthly contribution of CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam towards the LKWWA, said the association members.
Karam Shyam also encouraged the children and advised them to work hard for their goals.
