Toys and Dolls crafts workshop held

Moirang, December 04 2020: 25 days workshop of "Toys and Dolls craft's design and technical development" began at Keibul Sagram Makha Leikai under Moirangkhunou Gram Panchayat, yesterday.

The workshop is organised by the Export Promotion Council for Handicraft, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi under the Development Commission (Handicraft) Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

30 women artisans from Moirangkhunou GP Ward no 8/5/8 Keibul Sagram participated in the worksop.

The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was conducted by Chairman Manipur Development Society Government of Manipur, M Asnikumar.

It was attended by Assistant Director Handloom and Handicrafts Service Center Imphal, Office of the Development Commissioner Handicraft Ministry of Textiles Government of India, Y Jagyanshori; Moirangkhom Gram Panchayat Pradhan L Dhaneshwor and Up Pradhan O Memchoubi as presidium members.

Empanelled Designer North Eastern Region Menyo Ningombam and State Awardee in Dolls and Toys Konsom Ibomcha Singh also attended the event as resource persons.

M Asnikumar stated that the importance of handloom and handicraft in the State's economy is well known.

The PM's vision for the artisans of the State can be seen clearly in all the schemes that have been provided by the Central and the State Governments, he added.
