The 4th Foundation Day celebration of Socio Economic Empowerment Project (SEEP) was held at GM Hall today.
MLA Tongbram Mangibabu, Bombay Money Lenders Registrar and Co-Operative Societies Additional Registrar Th Manao, Women Empowerment Through Handicrafts Functional Manager Office in-charge Sanasam Birendra, former Chairman of Nagaland Rural Bank Laishram Bihari and All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) President Wangkhemcha Shyamjai attended the function as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, T Mangibabu said that many beneficial schemes are gathering dust as people are not aware of these schemes.
Although people gather in huge numbers for entertainment shows, attendance in awareness programmes is usually thin, he pointed out.
The MLA also suggested the general public to take interest in awareness programmes like entertainment shows so that they may have proper knowledge of Government projects and schemes.
Wangkhemcha Shyamjai urged the general public to help the media in discharging their duty freely.
Saying that State media fraternity is ready to work for the cause of the people, Shyamjai urged all concerned not to disturb and threaten media persons.
Prizes were also distributed to various SHGs at the function.
