Public alert meetings continue in different parts of Bpr, Tbl

Public alert meetings and protests were held in different parts of Bishnupur district today in support of the demand of COCOMI to publish the content of the final solution of the Indo-Naga peace talk and the final solution should not compromise the interest of the Manipur.
Keinou Apunba Nupi Lup and Women Society Ayokpa Kabui Khul jointly organized a public alert meetings at Keinou market where women folks, members of club and organisation of the region and villagers of Ayokpa Kabui village located near Keinou village took part in large number in the protest.
Speaking at the occasion, Secy Women Society Ayokpa Kabui Khul, Zarina Golmei condemned the wicked intent and nefarious design of NSCN (IM) to disintegrate Manipur adding that Kabui community will fight for the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Placards which read as "Publish the content of the agreement between India Govt and NSCN (IM)", "Territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised", "Chingmee-Tammee are one", "Long Live Manipur", "We oppose the communal policy of India", "Bring peace not pieces" were used in the public alert protest.
Similar protest were also staged at Ngangkhalawai which was organized by Ngangalawai Chingee-Tammee Apunba Lup where villagers from Khousabung, Bunglon, Senpangjar in Churachandpur district and Ngangkhalawai took part in large numbers.
The protesters raised slogan for the territorial integrity of Manipur and Long Live Manipur during the protest.
Speaking to the media persons on the sideline of the protest, Chairman Bunglon Women Society, Tingiau Gangte said that as a indigenous tribe of Manipur, we will fight for the protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur and will not accept the final solution between GoI and NSCN (IM) that may compromise the interest of Manipur.
In support of the demand of COCOMI, a public alert protest was also held at Wangoo Maning Sabal Community Hall in Kumbi AC.
The alert meeting jointly organized by Wangoo Sabal Development Organisation in association with Wangoo Maning Sabal Meira Paibi Lup was attended by Sunil Karam, Co-ordinator, COCOMI who is also president of UCM; Secy Yaima Saha; Amom Joy, president Wangoo Sabal Development Organisation; N (o) Bimota Leima, vice-president Wangoo Sabal Meira Paibi and Secy Ksh Ibempisak Leima as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Co-ordinator Sunil Karam said that the statement of Central Govt to consult all the stakeholders before the final agreement is announced raised the air of confusion in the minds of the people.
He also denounced the statement made by the CM against their legitimate demand for the publication of the content of Framework Agreement by November 4 .
He further urged the State Govt to act according to the pulse of the public and pressurized the Central Govt to handle such sensitive issue with utmost care while cautioning that violent agitation greater than the 'June Uprising' is in the offing if the content of the agreement compromised the territorial integrity of Manipur.
THOUBAL: Endorsing the initiative launched by Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) to save the political, administrative and territorial integrity of Manipur from external threat, Apunba Thoubal Maira Paibi in coordination with women vendors of Thoubal Keithel Mathak-Makha convened an alert meeting at Thoubal Keithel, today.
After the alert meeting, the demonstrators took out an alert rally upto Thoubal DC Office and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of the district.
A minor stand off took place at Thoubal Melaground when a group of District Police tried to stop the rallyists from further proceeding, however, after reaching an agreement between the two parties, the rally was continued under police surveillance.
Speaking to journalists by the sideline of the rally, one of the protesters said that the people of Manipur will fight tooth and nail if settlement of the Naga political issue affects the interest of Manipur under any circumstances.
Urging all concerned to disclose the details of agreement reached between the Government of India, NSCN-IM and NNPGs on October 31 to calm the anxiety of Manipur populace, she cautioned that 3rd Nupi Lan might flare-up if the land and interest of Manipur is compromised just to pacify a particular group/community.
