Dhanabir to represent BJP in Hiyanglam A/C by-election

Imphal, September 03 2014:
A public meeting held at the residence of Maibam Dhanabir, s/o late MLA Maibam Kunjo, of Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency has unanimously elected Dhanabir as BJP's representative candidate for the Hiyanglam A/C's by-election.
The public meeting also initiated the BJP election campaign.
Hiyanglam Kendra Committee All India Trinamool Congress members and leaders, who are to join BJP in the by-election, also waved their approval on the election of Dhanabir as their representative candidate.
The public meeting was attended by AITC Hiyanglam Kendra Committee president, N Rajendro; Vice-presidents elangbam Jugindro and O Kunjabihari; AITC campaign committee chairman, Th Lashmon and M Dhanabir.
On March 7, 2014 owing to the changing political scenario in the country, BJP was joined by about 1000 members.
Expressing his grief on the sudden demise of his father Maibam Kunjo, Dhanabir stated that his decision to stand in the A/C's by-election was driven by the advice from his constituency members to carry forward the unfulfilled dreams of his late father.
Former AITC Hiyanglam Kendra president N Rajendra further informed that, in total about 2500 leaders and workers from AITC have joined BJP for the by-election in support for Dhanabir.
A campaign supporting the same has also been initiated with the meeting.
