Imphal, June 03 2019:
Peeved with the sloppy office attendance by Secretariat employees, the State Government has constituted a three-member committee to monitor attendance and deduct salaries of employees who fail to attend office without giving proper reasons.
Principal Secretary GAD V Vumlunmang issued an office memorandum to this effect on June 1 .
The members of the committee are Joint Secretary (DP) Nita Arambam, Under Secretary (GAD) Sunanda Thokchom and Informatics Officer (DIT) Lamabam Martha Khuman.
According to the office memorandum, the committee would check attendance of Secretariat employees on the 5th of every month and identify all absentees.
Employees who come late and go back early would be given half casual leave and the same would be reflected in their pay bills.
If the number of casual leaves given to irregular employees exceeds 12 which is permissible in a year, the extra days of non-attendance would be counted as unauthorised absence and the same would be converted into earned leaveor extraordinary leave.
Relevant officers shouldreport about unauthorised absence of their subordinate employees to GAD/DP, mentioned the office memorandum.
