Imphal, June 03 2018:
Urging the Government not to try and harm the territorial integrity of the State, Manipur People's Party (MPP) has demanded the authority concerned to spell out the contents of the Framework Agreement signed between the Central Government and the NSCN (IM).
A press release issued by the vice president of MPP S Ibomcha Singh alleged that interlocutor RN Ravi has no respect for the people of Manipur and the MPP strongly condemn the statement made by him regarding the FA on April 26 in The Indian Express.
It claimed that the BJP Government in Imphal should realise that the process of destroying the integrity of Manipur has already begun with the decision to create Naga Autonomous District Council in the State.
As for MPP, the party is vehemently against the creation of Naga Autonomous District Council on Manipur soil or giving any part of the State land to Nagaland, it added.
Alleging that both the Congress and the BJP party have a hand in threatening the integrity of the State, the MPP said that after Manipur became a part of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Burma Prime Minister U Nu met at Imphal on March 29-30, 1953 during which Nehru gave Kabow valley to Burma without the consent of the people of Manipur.
It explained that on June 18, 2001, the people of Manipur rose in protest against the 'cease fire without territorial limits' clause of the cease fire agreement leading to the death of 18 people.
Manipur was under PR in 2001 and the B JP led ND A Government was in power at New Delhi that time, recalled MPP.
MPP similarly urged the BJP party to realise its folly before it is too late.
It further urged the BJP Government to refrain from manipulating Article 3 of the Indian Constitution to harm the territorial integrity of the State and warned that the Government should bear all the responsibility for any unwanted outcome if it fails to do so.
