KNF (N) gives reasons

Imphal, April 03 2015 : The capital punishment awarded to Thanglallian Vaiphei is appropriate and justifiable as per the Constitutional guidelines irrespective of rank and files within the organization.

He was an active member of the organization and held some key posts like Hqtrs CO, Daitwi Camp and later, Finance Secretary of the outfit's Hqtrs Division until he left the organization without the knowledge of the high command, said a press release issued by the KNF(N) commander in chief James Kuki.

He was advised by the higher authority to report to the base camp to explain as to why he left unconditionally.

He was even contacted several times through mobile phones.

Despite repeated reminders, he never paid any heed to all the calls.

Since he left the base camp, he took up anti-party and anti-social activities in the area together with his accomplices and they were involved in the abduction for ransom of labourers engaged by Guwahati based construction agency ABCI Pvt.

Ltd on March 2, 2014, and later on the 23rd of January 2015 in the name of the organisation.

He was given several chances on humanitarian ground for his return but all went in vain.

"Therefore, we had no other option but to award him capital punishment as per the constitution of the party which he himself pledged to comply with when he joined the party in 2013.He was not given death penalty for being a Vaiphei but as a cadre of KNF (N) for going against the principle of the organization", James Kuki said.

The joint declaration signed by the three organizations of Eastern Block namely, YVA Jt.

Hqtrs, VPC & Zillai and published in media was apparently drafted without conducting any enquiry as to whether Thanglallian was really innocent or not.

That shows the immaturity of the signatories who are unfit to be called leaders of a tribe.

Leaders are responsible for moulding the future of society.

It appealed to the higher authority (GHqtrs of VPC, YVA & Zillai) concerned to look into the matter and withdraw the communal declaration as it is an indirect encouragement to the gangsters.

This may bring chaos and misunderstanding specially in Island Block of Sadar Hills in particular.

The outfit also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family.
