In yet another ruling, the Guwahati High Court, Imphal Bench has today served a notice to the state government authorities to furnish explanation over the killing of two persons in an alleged fake encounter within four weeks time.
In a judgment held by a Division of a bench constituted by Justice Binoykumar and Justice AC Upadhyay, the Guwahati High Court, Imphal bench has directed the state Principal Secretary (Home), DGP, and Imphal East district SP to furnish the detail over the killing of two persons � Mutum Rajen and Mutum Herojit � in an alleged fake encounter on October 14 last within four weeks time.
The ruling was held as per criminal writ petition filed before the Guwahati High Court, Imphal bench by the wife of (L) Mutum Rajen, Mutum Ibecha and the wife of (L) Mutum Herojit, Mutum (O) Ronina.
The ruling comes not long after the Guwahati High Court, Imphal Bench had served similar notice to the state government to come out with explanation over the killing of a person in a reported staged encounter.
According to the complainants� Advocates, Mutum Rajen and Mutum Herojit were blood relatives.
They were riding a Kinetic Honda on October 14, 2008 at around 2.20pm to Chingmeirong to engage a videographer for a ceremony to be held for Herojit�s child.
They were killed in an alleged encounter at Lambui area under Porompat police station after two of them were arrested near LMS Law College.
The families� members have been denied any cooperation though after submitting written application to concerned authority of the police department.
