Motbung welcomes State vovinam players

Kangpokpi, February 03 2020: Denizens of Motbung Model village welcomed Vovinam players of the State at Motbung bazar on their return from Gujarat after winning the National Level (Junior) Vovinam Championship, 2020 at Anand, Gujarat.

Manipur had for the tenth time won the National Vovinam Championship after the state Vovinam players won the 10th National Vovinam Championship held at Anand, Gujarat from January 27 to January 30 organised by Vovinam Association of Gujarat.

Motbung Model Village Authority, Motbung Youth Club, Motbung Women Union in the presence of Kaisei Lhouvum, chief of Motbung who is also the executive member of ADC Sadar Hills garlanded all the players and presented one traditional shawl each to the players and officials as a marked of appreciation on their achievement.

Sixteen years old girl Chiinmaunkim Lhouvum, youngest daughter of L Paokhothang Lhouvum of Motbung Model village in Kangpokpi District won gold in 62+ kg category.

She was fittingly felicitated by Motbung Model Village Authority, Motbung Youth Club and Motbung Women Union this afternoon at the residence of the village chief.

Kaisei Lhouvum, chief of Motbung Model village, who is also the Executive Member of ADC Sadar Hills said that Chiinmaunkim Lhouvum is a true daughter of not only Motbung and Kangpokpi District but for the State and lauded her for bringing fame and laurels to the State and Kangpokpi district, especially Motbung village.

He also appealed the authorities concerned and the State Government to acknowledge her contribution and achievement in the best possible ways.
