Stringent measures taken up in Bishnupur

With the surge in COVID-19 infection and after one death was reported in Bishnupur district, police along with local volunteers have taken up various stringent safety measures to contain the spread of the virus.
District police have been conducting checkings but now in a more stringent manner.
Many were detained and fined for breaking the norms.
Police patrol teams using loudspeakers dispersed people in groups in localities.
Even vegetable vendors were also not allowed this time.
On the other hand, local club volunteers have now installed drop gates at the entrances of their localities.
Newcomers in the locality were verified.
Posters and banners were also pasted to increase awareness to the people.
In some localities even body temperature was checked before entering using a thermal digital meter.
In Moirang, local clubs have been guarding the entry of their localities day and night.
At Moirang Konjengbam Leikai, the Youth Development Organization (YDO) and Konjengbam Leikai Youth Welfare Association have installed drop gates at the entrances of their locality and records every person who comes to their locality.
Meanwhile, some people who have to move for essential services complain of the inconveniences they have to face due to blocking of some main roads.
Subsequently, under the direction of SP Bishnupur, Officer-in-Charge of Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station Kh Rajen Kha-nganba along with the volunteers of YKO Kwakta, MMWO Kwakta, YDO Phugakchao Ikhai, Salai Tarest Terakhongshangbi sprayed disinfectants containing sodium hypochlorite at their localities and surrounding areas.
