Bishnupur, March 02 2017:
Deputy Commissioner M Harekrishna has stated that everything has been prepared for successful execution of the first phase of the Manipur Legislative Assembly poll which would be conducted on March 4 in 227 polling stations of Bishnupur district.
Speaking to media persons at Loukoipat Bishnupur DC office, he stated that according to ECI guidelines, the time for any rally, meeting and processions has ended, except door-to-door house campaign.
CRPC Sec-144 has been imposed in the district, he stated and appealed to all personnel related to election matter whether a candidate, worker(s) or voters to return to their respective ACs.
Election related tasks including disbursing, receiving and scrutiny after election would begin tomorrow at Secretariat DC office, Bishnupur Block Lamkhai and added that any items or unused EVM machines would be kept at the office.
Deployment of micro observer at the critical polling station 78 have also been arranged, he asserted adding that arrangements to avail VV Pad for the first time at 45 polling stations of Nambol AC have also been made.
Harekrishna asserted that for the first time in the history of Manipur election, six polling stations have been set up only for women in all the Assembly Constituencies of Bishnupur except Kumbi and Thanga.
He also appealed to all to follow the Election Commission of India's guidelines which restricts setting up booths at around 200 metre from each polling station of the district and urged the voters to cast their vote ethically and faithfully.
