CAB, Naga Peace talks discussed

Kumbi Kendra Development Committee celebrated its 10th foundation day with a discussion programme on prevailing issues of the State at Kumbi Awang High School Campus today.
Asst co-ordinator COCOMI Ph Nando Luwang, asst co-ordinator COCOMI Khuraijam Athouba, Headmaster Kumbi Awang Khunou Primary School Kumbi N Bijoy Singh, president SMC, Awang High School Kumbi N Ibojao Singh and L Chinglen Singh attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Khuraijam Athouba said that the secret agreement between the NSCN-IM and the Government India regarding the Naga Peace process has hindered and threatened the bond of love between all communities residing in the State.
The State has been suffering from innumerable issues since it merger with the Union of India.
Many are raising doubts over the legality of the merger still today, he said.
"We as people should stand firm against any divisive policy that threatens the bond of brotherhood between all communities," he said advising the Government of India to hear people's plight before reaching a final solution to the peace process.
Ph Nando Luwang said pointed out the fate of the Tripuris in Tripura and exhorted that people should be vigilant and condemn illegal influx of immigrants in all forms.
The possible introduction of the Citizenship Amendment Bill amidst the concluding Naga peace process is unfortunate and these issues are a threat to the peaceful coexistence of all in the State, he said.
