Two UGs, one OGW held

Imphal, September 01 2014: Based on specific intelligence regarding the movement of a UG cadre, troops of the 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area at Gwaltabi and apprehended one KNLA cadre yesterday.

The apprehendee has been identified as Manglet (50) s/o Lengthong of Khonom in Churachandpur district.

One 7.65 mm pistol along with three live rounds and three demand notes were recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee along with the recovered items has been handed over to the Lamlai Police station.

In another incident, based on specific intelligence regarding the movement of a UG cadre, troops of the 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area of Yumnam Khunao and apprehended one over ground worker of UNLF yesterday.

The apprehendee has been identified as Arambam Naokham Meitei (35) s/o A Ningthemjao Meitei of Yumnam Khunao in Imphal East district.

The apprehendee has been handed over to the Sagolmang Police station.

In yet another incident, based on specific intelligence regarding the movement of a UG cadre, troops of the 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area of Mahadev camp village and apprehended one KNLA cadre yesterday.

The apprehendee has been identified as Thangminlal Haokip (23) s/o Jamlet Haokip of Thawai Kuki in Ukhrul district.

The apprehendee has been handed over to Litan Police station, said a press release isued by PRo Hqs IGAR (S) .
