Imphal, February 01 2018:
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Yumnam Khemchand's complaint about possible adulteration of diesel has been found true and the IOC has been asked to take up befitting action against the wrongdoers, stated CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam.
Speaking to media persons at his Secretariat office today, Karam stated that adulteration of diesel was confirmed from a report sent from the laboratory of Digboi Refinery.
But it was not at PCTC & Sons where the diesel was adulterated and there are evidences of adulterating the particular diesel volume on the way between Assam's Tinsukia and Khatkhatti, said Karam Shyam who also holds the Revenue portfolio.
The State Government has asked the IOC to black list the particular transporter as well as the oil tanker and take up other befitting actions.
It is a big lesson to the Government as well as the IOC, he said.
After the Speaker complained about possible adulterating of diesel after refueling his vehicles at PCTC, the State Government asked IOC to investigate the matter.
The particular oil tanker has been suspended from transporting fuel.
The oil tanker belongs to transporter M/S Janoka Devi Acharya.
The matter would be further investigated under the Oil Industries Transport discipline guidelines and necessary action would be initiated.
