Nagamapal blast case may be handed to MA

As done in other parts of the country, Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas (National Rededication Day) was observed with Chief Minister N Biren Singh as the chief guest at the conference hall of Manipur Secretariat (South Block) today.
The event was organised to mark the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister remembered Indira Gandhi's contributions in safeguarding the integrity of India and bringing the country forward towards advancement and development.
He urged the people of the State to take the pledge of strengthening the integrity and unity of the country following her ideals.
Stating that the day was observed on the death anniversary of the former Prime Minister to remember her sacrifices for the country, the Chief Minister said that Indira Gandhi was an outstanding and dedicated leader who was also prominent at the international level as well.
He also urged the people to uphold her principles and make India a powerful and united country.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister also expressed serious concern over the alleged involvement of some functionaries of a civil society organisation in the Nagamapal blast which killed one CRPF personnel and injured another on September 20.Biren said that the case might be handed over to the NIA for investigation.
Asking how a CSO became involved in such an act, he said that it L unfortunate to find weapons in the possession of CSO leaders, who are working for the masses.
Claiming that such incidents have also occurred in the past, Biren continued that the issue requires immediate attention and added that if the case is handed over to the NIA, almost all the CSOs of the State will come under the NIA radar.
Replying to a query about when the case will be handed over to the NIA, the CM conveyed that the accused individuals have been caught and the authorities are compiling the evidences and the final decision will be taken after reviewing all the developments regarding the case.
Biren continued that earlier, the CSOs of the State were viewed in a positive light by the State Government but the incident has aroused suspicion against the CSOs.
As such, it is important for/the Ministers, MLAs, bureaucrats, officers and police to be alert and vigilant.
The police, in particular, now need to view the issue from various angles/dimensions, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar, who attended the observance as the functional president, opined that the strength of the country lies in its unity.
On her death anniversary, the present generation must appreciate Indira Gandhi's role in Nation building and maintaining unity, the Deputy Chief Minister said and added that the country should never forget her sacrifices.
Ministers, MLAs and high ranking civil and police officers also attended the observance.
Teachers and students of Shri Shri Balmukunda Dev Music College presented patriotic opening and closing songs at the event.
