Imphal, August 31 2011:
Civil Liberties Protection Forum (CLPF) has urged the SHDDC and UNC to analyse whether the ongoing blockades clamped along the highways are pressurising the Government in pursuit of their demands or it has only given hardships to the general public.
CLPF in a press release observed, when the Government is non-performing and unmindful of the sufferings of its people, it seems that the Government would not mind even if all the people of the State have to die.
CLPF pointed out that any public uprising which is not in the favour of the people would not serve any purpose.
It added, "It is a democratic society, we must exercise our democratic rights to teach this Government a lesson.
Don't let the issues die down.
To keep public issue alive, it is time to change the strategy of the agitations with a view to lessen the sufferings of our
own people" .
