MPP to release election manifesto, begin campaign soon

Imphal, February 28 2019: After the announcement of the names of MPP candidates who are contesting in the Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies of the Lok Sabha election, the party has conveyed that it will soon release their election manifesto and begin election campaign at the earliest while appealing all not to spread any false rumours about the party.

Speaking to media persons at MPP office in Mapal Kangjeibung Maning today, Manipur People's Party secretary general (administration) H Gitajen Meitei said that the party is investing effort to begin election campaign and release election manifesto at the earliest following the earlier announcement of O Jugindro and Kaiphu as the candidate for inner and outer parliamentary constituency of the Lok Sabha election respectively.

He appealed all not to spread any false rumours about the party at such a crucial time.

Informing that MPP is the oldest regional party which held governance in the State for two terms, he maintained that the contributions of the party during its terms are known best by the people.

Although the party remained quite for some time, it has started gaining strength with the support of the people, he said adding that it has been able to take part at alarming State's issues like BP dispute, movement against CAB 2016 etc.

He said that the party has decided to produce two candidates for both seats only because of the people's support.

Gitajen further stated that the interim president of MPP, O Jugindro was elected in the party conference participated by 399 members of Central Working Committee from 40 ACs of the State.
