Mass Media Campaign and Sensitization programme held

With an aim to sensitize the Press and Media heads' regarding the ongoing programme of Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign in Thoubal district, a day long Mass Media Campaign and Sensitization programme was held at the Counting Hall of DC office, Thoubal, today.
District Youth Coordinator of NYKS, Michael Mate; District Social Welfare officer Arambam Kameshwar Singh and NMBCC member Yumnam Lakshman Singh attended the programme as presidium members, said a statement of the DLC on NMBCC, Thoubal.
Addressing the programme, Arambam Kameshwar Singh briefed the objectives, programmes and management of Nasha Mukta Bharat Campaign in Thoubal district and sought the cooperation of the Press and Media for successful implementation of the programme in the district.
Yumnam LakshmanSingh appreciated the services rendered by the Press and Media during the last five months and highlighted the major activities conducted by the District Level Committee from August to December, 2020, it added.
Soibam Binoy Singh, AIR Correspondent stated that because of the misuse of drugs and alcohol, lots of problems like rape* murder and theft are on the rise.
The district has become a route for transporting drugs.
Th Inaobi Meitei of RDS appealed to the Press and Media heads to recommend the IRCAs for further treatment and rehabilitation of the drug addicts in the Ministry sponsored rehabilitation centres.He also suggested that showing a demographic profile of drug addicts, targeted community and family background of the drug affected people will be helpful in analysing and treatment of the addicts.
Later, the District Social welfare officer feted the Press and Media persons present in the programme.
