Kangpokpi, August 30 2021:
Considering the poor healthcare facilities and hardships faced by the people of Makui village and its surrounding areas, especially during the time of the coronavirus outbreak in the State, former Minister Thangminlien Kipgen who is currently the executive member of BJP Manipur State, has handed over Covid relief items and medical kits to the Makui Primary Health Sub-Centre (PHSC).
Makui PSHC covers a number of villages including Makui Part, Makui Part II, Makui Part III, Makui Part IV, Makui Part V, Chaljang and Wakotphai.
The people of Makui village have literally been living in a destitute state for quite some time due to poor medical facilities coupled with lack of proper transportation.
The village even has no internet facilities which is one of the biggest challenges faced by the student's community during this time of pandemic.

In a bid to help villagers, Thangminlien Kipgen handed over the relief items to Makui PHSC through the village chairman, N Silakbou.
The materials included three oxygen concentrators, PPE kits, face masks, sanitizers and medicines.
Addressing the distribution programme held at Makui Village Authority Hall on August 28, Thangminlien Kipgen said that though there is not a single case of COVID-19 in the village, it is essential to follow all the Covid-19 protocols.
He also appealed to the villagers who are 18 years and above to get themselves vaccinated with the Covid vaccine.
Thangminlien Kipgen further informed that though the issue of a proper building of Makui PHSC has been lingering on for quite some time, he has talked with the Chief Minister and the later has already sanction funds for constructing the PHSC and the construction works will begin at the earliest.
N Silakbou, while expressing his gratitude to Thangminlien Kipgen, said that the village during the last 10 years has seen no development programmes being taken up.
Things have remained the same 10 years back which is very fortunate.
"It is a blessing that Thangminlien has donated such medical equipment and medicines for the people of the village during the time of this pandemic.
The people of the village will always pray and help him in whatever way they can", he asserted.
While lamenting over the absence of the nurses and doctors in the PHSC which serves as the only health centre for the people of these villages, N Silakbou urged the former Minister to ensure that the nurses and doctors are present on a regular basis at the PHSC and serve the villagers as and when the need arises.
Thangminlien Kipgen also visited nearby villages- Chaljang and Wakotphai and looked into the needs and problems of the villagers.
