Imphal, November 29 2024:
The JAC constituted in connection with the disappearance/ab-duction of Laishram Kamalbabu has decided to intensify their agitation and block movement of army personnel.
JAC convenor Laishram Ratan said that the three days deadline to trace Kamalbabu expired today but no response has been received from the 57 Mountain Division GOC.
The situation demands a strong, mass movement otherwise Meiteis may face total annihilation.
It's time to show the army that their partisan policy and attitude will not be tolerated, the JAC convenor said.
He called upon all the people to block movement of all army troops in every locality and it should not be necessarily restricted to those military personnel stationed at Leimakhong.
He went on to ask, "How can they (army officers) feign ignorance when a civilian disappeared inside their heavily fortified station?" Ratan further appealed to all the people to extend unstinted support to the intensified agitation which would be spearheaded by the JAC from Saturday.
