Social service / tree plantation programme held

Imphal, September 29 2024:
Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Manipur in association with All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) organised a Social Service cum Tree Plantation Programme at Irabot Square, Lilasing Khongnangkhong yesterday.
The event was held in connection with the ongoing "Swachhata Hi Seva, 2024" campaign.
Speaking on the occasion.
M Joy Singh, Commissioner, IPR, stated that the social service drive, held as part of Swachh Bharat Mission, aimed to emphasise the importance of cleanliness and proper waste management He asserted that the cleanli ness drive was conducted in line with Mahatma Gandhi's vision for not only an independent India, but a clean and developed nation, as well as in tribute to him.
He continued that the tree plantation drive conducted under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign will help maintain a healthy ecosystem.
Further, M Joy Singh expressed his appreciation to the staff of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) for rendering their support in the drive.
Director, IPR, Dr Th Charanjeet Singh; AMWJU president, Bijoy Kakchingtabam; officials and staff of DIPR, standing committee members of AMWJU and staff of IMC actively participated in the programme.
