Cine policy in final stage: Jayantakr

Art and Culture Minsiter L Jayantakumar has conveyed that the Manipur State Cine Policy is in the final stage.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 14th Foundation Day Celebration of Film Forum Manipur held at Manipur State Film Development Society (MFDS), Palace Compound, Imphal, the Minister went on to inform that the Manipur State Cine Policy was kept only in the skeletal form and required much more to be done, including rectification and standardization of the policy from its previous state by seeking suggestions and opinions from experts.
The policy requires an approval from the Cabinet for putting it in the gazette notification as well as for implementation.
All these processes are most likely to be completed by the end of next month or so.
Stating that the State Government is also making its best efforts to organize Manipur State Film Festival annually, the Minister added that the Government is also planning to build a large campus for Manipur State Film and Television Institute at a suitable place.
People of Tongou and Haotat Village have agreed to give land for the said purpose and the first location has been already been allotted in the name of Art and Culture Department he said and sought cooperation from the public in the endeavor of the Government for promotion of Manipuri Film in the State.
The function was also attended by Film Forum Manipur Chairman S Mangoljao Singh and Art and Culture Director Aribam Shivadas Sharma as the president and guest of honor.
Five veteran film personalities of Manipuri film, namely M Nilamani, Ng Swarnajit Singh, Thangjam Kora (Nabachandra), L Dhanachandra and Chongtham Kamala were felicitated during the function.
