State government continues to ensure availability of foodgrains

Imphal, August 28 2020:
With the aim to ensure availability of foodgrains throughout the State, Government continues to provide PDS rice and dal to Assembly Constituencies (ACs) of the State.
Tadubi AC of Senapati District today lifted 632.75 quintal of rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and 583.55 quintal of rice under National Food Security Act (NFSA) from the allocation of September month.
The AC also reported lifting of 1,167 quintal under PMGKAY and 1,390.10 quintal under NFSA on 26th of this month.
In Tamenglong District, Tamei AC under Tamei Sub-Division lifted 1,182.10 quintal of PMGKAY rice, allocated for the current month, from FCI godown, Sangaiprou today.
Jiribam AC too reported lifting of 1,870.70 quintal of rice, allocated for September under the same scheme, from FCI godown, Jiribam.
Under PMGKAY, Henglep AC of Churachandpur District today completely lifted 1,729.45 quintal of rice allocated for the month of August.
Churachandpur AC also lifted 371.60 quintal of rice under the scheme thereby completing its allocation for September.
Under NFSA, Saikot AC reported lifting of 981.45 quintal of rice from August allocation.
There was also report on lifting of Whole Chana dal in Churachandpur District consisting of 101.42 quintal for Singngat AC from July allocation and another 175.25 quintal for Saikot AC from August allocation.
It may be mentioned that the State Government had been distributing PDS items to every households of the State under National Food Security Act , PMGKAY and Open Market Sale Scheme.
