Free heart disease screening camp held

Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd (SHRI), Manipur, in collaboration with Tripura Medical College supported by RBSK-Tripura and the National Health Mission-Tripura organised a free Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) screening camp for children aged 0 to 18 years at Tripura Medical College and Dr BRAM Teaching Hospital, Tripura on Wednesday.
According to a release issued by SHRI, children exhibiting symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, and suspected holes in the heart attended the camp and received free consultation & echocardiogram screening with Dr Lukram Sidartha, Consultant Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeon, SHRI, Imphal.

During the camp, more than 60 children were screened for congenital heart disease.
Free consultation and echocardiogram screening to all registered individuals were also provided.
Cases requiring ASD Device Closure, VSD Device Closure, PDA Device Closure, and open-heart surgeries were detected during echocardiogram screening at the camp.
These children will be treated at SHRI under the RBSK Scheme.
Meanwhile, a Free Heart Check-up Camp was also held today at ASIAN Hospital & Research Institute (AHRI) in Kwakeithel Bazar, Imphal.
Around 80 individuals were examined for various heart related diseases during the camp by the doctors and staff of the hospital led by Dr Kshetrimayum Kala Singh, said a release issued by AHRI.
The medical team with the support of medical representatives also provided various services including free screening of blood pressure (BP) & diabetes, ECG, nerve test, thyroid test, microalbumin test, etc.
Later, a Heart Attack Prevention Cell was also inaugurated at the hospital.
