"Viksit Bharat Essay State Championship" held

As part of the Viksit Bharat Youth Leader Dialogue Challenge, the "Viksit Bharat Essay State Championship" was held at the Department of Commerce, Manipur University today.
The event was organised by the Viksit Bharat Committee and NSS Cell, Manipur University, under the guidance of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, New Delhi.
According to a release issued by NSS Cell, the initiative was part of the upcoming National Youth Festival 2025, scheduled to take place from January 11-12, 2025 at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The championship aimed to engage young minds nationwide through essay writing challenges across various themes and tracks.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Nodal Officer, Dr Laishram Santosh Singh, who extended a heartfelt welcome to the esteemed moderator, Madam Richa Dwivedi, representing the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
He also extended a warm welcome to the esteemed jury members and the dedicated technical team, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their gracious participation and support.
The jury consisted of Prof Ch Ibohal Singh, Prof K Shitaljit Singh, Dr S Sunil Singh, Dr Macha Chaoreikanba Singh, Dr RK Suresh Singh, Dr Ksh Ranjan Singh and Dr H Suraj Singh.
He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the technical team, led by I Tilokchan Singh, for their meticulous efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
Highlighting the journey of the Viksit Bharat Essay State Championship in Manipur, Dr Laishram Santosh said, "Initially, 64 applicants submitted essays for the first round.
After a thorough evaluation, the top 25 participants were selected based on their ability to address the themes and tracks clearly and effectively" .
"Despite some challenges, including mixed submissions across themes, the committee ensured fairness in selecting the most relevant essays.
For the final championship round, 22 out of the 25 shortlisted participants confirmed their participation.
Among them, 8 participants presented their ideas online as they were studying outside Manipur, while 14 attended offline", he added.
Dr Laishram Santosh continued that each applicant delivered a core idea presentation (via PPT) across various themes and tracks before the jury and the moderator.
"Selected participants will earn the opportunity to represent the State at the National Youth Festival 2025 in New Delhi", he asserted.
The event concluded with a briefing by Madam Richa Dwivedi, who expressed her appreciation for the excellent organization of the championship.
