Assam Rifles conducts community service, security meet

Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised community service and security meet today with an aim to interact with the local populace as well as sensitise them in regards to existing security situation in the area.
The community service cum interaction was organised by Yangangpokpi Company Operating Base (COB) of Mantripukhri Battalion at Believers Church, Songjang Village, Senapati district, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South).
The interaction was aimed to familiarise and orient troops of the Company Operating Base (COB) with the locals as well as identify with their local customs and traditions.
The event commenced with offering of prayers followed by an interaction with the villagers.
Over 125 villagers shared their various issues of concern.
As part of the security meet conducted by Lilong Company Operating Base (COB) of Keithelmanbi Battalion, locals were updated on current situation existing in the area of responsibility.
An interaction was carried out on necessary measures required to be undertaken for maintaining a strict vigil against illicit activities in the area and future action plan in respect of civic action projects was discussed.
The attendees were also sensitised regarding the ill effects of drug abuse among the youth.
The security forum was attended by Ward Councillors, Pradhans and representatives of youth club members.
