Imphal, August 27 2014:
A dubbed version of American documentary film, Narrow Escapes of Japan War, a story based on the Battle of Kohima, fought between the British and Japanese army, was released today.
Produced by the IMG Production House, America, the film pictures the odds and ills of the war, the courage of the soldiers, the deaths, and the triumph of the British over the Japanese army.
IMG credits most of the storyline and scenes in the film to have been taken from the real life pictures of the war.
This 50 minutes long documentary film, which was dubbed and produced in Manipuri by Kanglei Movies World, Sagolband, was released at the office of Film Forum Manipur by its president Surjakanta Sharma.
Speaking at the function, Proprietor of Kanglei Movies World, Oinam Samananda said, "Where history books succeeded in informing people of the history of Japan War and the courage shown by the soldiers, it failed to provide the real life feeling of the war" .
The film was based on the story, told by a British soldier, a survivor of the war.
He narrated the inconvenience he and his fellow soldiers faced in the war, the difficulties faced by the survivors and the courage and spirits of the opposing army.
The KMW proprietor said that the film would prove to be a great value for students, teachers or scholars who are interested in learning the history of Japan war.
"The ugly picture of the war will, hopefully, influence peace among us," Samananda concluded.
