Jiribam, August 27 2013: A man has been sent to jail on the charges of attempting to murder both his wife and mother-in-law who are now being treated at hospital after he attacked them with a sword. Police reports said the incident happened on the night of August 23 at Narayanpur in Manipur's Jiribam in Imphal East district.

Accused Sadon Sharma, 38, attacked his wife and mother-in-law with a sharp sword after a family feud, injuring both in the heads.

The mother-in-law, Hiranmi, 58, is now in critical condition in a Silchar hospital, Assam.

However, His wife, Subhani Chakraborty, 38, also treating in the same hospital, is now out of danger.

The accused was arrested by police on the charges of attempting to murder his wife and mother-in-law on August 24 .

He was later produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate, Jiribam which remanded him to judicial custody.
