The doctors and nurses of RIMS advised the patient's family to take Md Iqbal Khan at JNIMS for treatment again.
The patient died near JNIMS gate.
Meanwhile, Popular Front of India (PFI), Manipur State has urged the State Government and department concerned to take appropriate action against doctors, who 'avoid' their duties at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at Lilong, Vice president of PFI, Manipur, Md Wahidur Rahman said that one Md Iqbal Khan (35), S/o Abdul Ajis from Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai was admitted to JNIMS for some complications on July 24 last and after spending the night there, he was referred to Lamyanba Hospital and from there to RIMS.
On knowing that he is resident of Lilong, the doctors there (RIMS) refused to give the patient treatment, he claimed and added that the attitude shown by the doctors is inhumane and deserve condemnation from all corners.
Claiming that this is not the first time that such an incident occurred, he added that negligence on the part of the State Government and department concerned to check such issue will invite more tragedy in future.
He then demanded the State Government to carry out a high-level departmental enquiry and book all responsible doctors at the earliest.
Md Wahidur Rahman further asked the State Government to assist the family members of the deceased.
