Imphal, October 26 2012: Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) has urged the OC of 82 TCC, Tengnoupal for repair and black-topping of Pallel-Chandel stretch of the road.

In a representation to the OC of the RCC unit, the NSUC recalled the BRTF assurance to repair the road and black-top it following the 24 hour bandh launched by the students' union some months back.

The BRTF had assured that the road would be black-topped and repaired once the rainy season is over and that convinced the students' union to call off its agitation.

As the rainy season is over, the NSUC appealed the BRTF unit for immediate resumption of the road construction and ensure to complete it before Christmas.

At the same time, NSUC has alleged of unequal allocation of development funds under DRDA Chandel.

A statement of the NSUC urged the concerned authority to ensure equal allocation of fund under DRDA.

It suggested that the funds should be allocated based on population and work capacity.

It added that the common interest of all communities should be considered while allocation development funds.

It further urged the authority concerned to effect the early inauguration of the already completed MiniSecretariat of Chandel.
