Road damages estimated at Rs 206 cr

It is estimated that the total monetary value of the roads damaged by torrential rain and landslides in different parts of Manipur would be around R 206 crore.
The torrential rain caused extensive damages to many roads in hill districts particularly Chandel and Ukhrul, said a top ranking PWD officer.
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar held a meeting with Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing, Tengnoupal AC MLA D Korungthang and top officials today and deliberated on the extent of damages done by the recent floods and landslides.
The meeting decided to raise the matter in a Cabinet meeting in order to repair/re-construct all the damaged roads.
On account of torrential rain, earthquake and landslides, extensive damages were done to Imphal-Ukhrul road, Tengnoupal-Sangshak road, Yairipok-Kasom Khullen road, Imphal-Kamjong road, New Somtal road and Khudenthangbi-Rilram Centre, added the official.
