One dies in mishap

Imphal, November 25 2017:
In yet another incident of road mishap, a 28 year old youth was killed and another (the deceased's younger brother) was left seriously injured, when the vehicle they were travelling in, fell down into a gorge at Awangkhul, under Noney police station, along Imphal-Jiribam highway, at around 9.30 am today.
According to police, the unfortunate incident happened when the brothers were coming towards Imphal from Silchar in a car, bearing registration number AS-11M-1497, when it lost control and fell into the deep gorge after hitting a huge rock along the road at Awangkhul.
The elder brother reportedly died on the spot while the younger brother sustained serious injuries and was evacuated by security personnel of 14 Sikh Regiment and 143 CRPF to Noney Primary Health Centre for first aid and later referred to a hospital in Imphal for further treatment.
The deceased individual has been identified as Dingchabou Meijiulak alias Ading (28) s/o Tathonang Meijiulak of Langmai village, Tamei and the injured brother has been identified as Kaluhabou Meijiulak(26) .
The deceased individual has been working as an assistant manager of SBI Silchar branch.
The dead body was deposited at JNIMS morgue for p6st mortem by a team of Noney police later in the evening.
