Kakching, April 25 2021:
The road stretch leading to Yanbi in Meichakpi, Elangkhanpokpi Awang Sallam which has been in a very deplorable condition for many years was repaired under the supervision of Nongmaithem Sanjay Singh, president Dalit Sena Manipur State (Lok Janshakti Party).
N Sanjay Singh sponsored the cost of repairing the road upon the request of the villagers of the area.
Speaking to the media person, N Sanjay Singh stated that the condition of the road especially during the rainy season has been a problem for the local farmers and added that with the repairing done, the villagers would be able to traverse the road comfortably.
He mentioned that Manipur cannot progress without empowering the farmers first.
Agriculture is an important part of the State's economy and contributes a major share to the total state domestic product and provides employment to about 22.13 percent (according to 2011 census) of the total workers in Manipur.
N Sanjay Singh reiterated that it is essential to improve the living condition of the farmers as they have stayed a neglected community for decades despite their huge contribution to the economy.
