TA & Hills Minister chairs COVID-19 review meeting at Tuibong

Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister, Vungzagin Valte chaired a meeting with District Administration and Church leaders of the district today to review the Covid-19 situation in the district at DTC Hall, Tuibong.
During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer, Dr VC Pau briefed the participants on the present Covid-19 situation as well as Covid Care Centres and Community Home Isolation Centres in the district.
Acknowledging the commendable services rendered by frontline workers like doctors, nurses, paramedics, police etc in combating Covid-19 pandemic, the Minister urged the Church leaders to lend a helping hand to the District Administration by providing human resources, infrastructure and educating the people through the church.

"Let us rise above our political differences in the interest of the people.
We need to come together.
We need to unite as a human being", V Valte said.
The church leaders expressed their willingness to work with the Government agencies to fight the Covid-19 pandemic together.
The Church leaders also agreed to assist the Covid-19 management by providing spaces for setting up Covid Care Centres in the existing Sunday School buildings, providing volunteers as support staff and in dissemination of Covid-19 appropriate information to its members.
As per the decision taken during the meeting, funeral related gathering or condolence programmes should be held as per the guideline and Covid-19 related instructions with proper intimation to the district administration or SDO concerned for effective enforcement of Covid-19 SOP.
The Minister also inspected the Oxygen Plant site at Churachandpur District Hospital today.
The trial run for this PSA oxygen plant has been successfully completed and will become fully functional within a short period of time, Dr VC Pau, CMO of the district said.
While visiting the oxygen plant, Vungzagin Valte also inspected a new site for installation of a new PSA oxygen plant which will produce 200 cylinders per day.
