Bishnupur, March 24 2017: District Health Society, Bishnupur, District TB Centre, CSC Vihaan Project, BNP+ and Project AXSHYA, Bishnupur have jointly organised a programme to observe the World TB Day at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Bishnupur, reports our correspondent.

During the programme, officials announced that out of 744 patients who were screened in 2016, 66 were detected with TB.

Altogether 158 patients which include patients detected with TB in the past were successfully treated while 9 patients passed away during the course of treatment.

Bishnupur district has 5 designated microscopic centres, 1 CBNAAT laboratory, 1 TB unit, 135 DOT Centres that operates with an objective to provide best health services to the people.

The programme was also attended by L Maniyaima, Chairperson, Bishnupur Municipal Council, Dr H Babychand Devi, CMO, Bishnupur, Dr Kh Modhumangol Singh, retd CMO, Bishnupur and Dr Ng Jayenta Singh, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Bishnupur.
