NMBCC awareness programme held at Thoubal, Moirang

The Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee (NMBCC), Thoubal and Youth Development Organisation Thoubal Okram, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, jointly organised a one day awareness and sensitization programme on 'Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse' at Thoubal Okram Maning Leikai Community hall, today.
The programme was attended by Thoubal Municipal Council Ward number 1 member, N Nanda; NHM Thoubal DPM, Ch Basanta and Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee Thoubal member Y Lakshman as presidium members.
Addressing the programme, N Nanda stated that any movement or agitation against drugs and substance abuse will never be successful without the support and assistance of the people.
Similarly, an awareness programme on 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' and 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign' was jointly organised by the District Task Force Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee, (NMBCC) Thoubal under the supervision of the district administration at Election Counting Hall in Thoubal DC Complex, yesterday.
The programme was attended by District Social Welfare Officer, A Kameshwar; ICDS Thoubal DPO, T Anita; NMBCC Thoubal member Y Lakshman and District Health Society, Thoubal DPM, Ch Basanta as presidium members.
Addressing the programme, T Anita mentioned that the awareness programme was organised in relation to the National Girl Child Day and the National Girl Child Week conducted from January 21.The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign has been organised at Thoubal district since 2018 to generate awareness about the fundamental rights and equality of girl child in the society, she added.
The programme was also attended by district police officials, teachers, youth volunteers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
Another awareness programme was organised today by the District level NMBCC Bishnupur on the theme 'Awareness programme of community outreach and Identification on Dependent population' at Moirang Thana Leikai Mandap.
The programme was attended by DSWO Bishnupur N Jotish Singh, Child Line Bishnupur Director L Pishak Singh, Chief Functionary Social Upliftment Association, Anouba Punshi kon IRCA Bishnupur president K Prdipkumar and Child Line Bishnupur Master Trainer S Rebika Devi as presidium members.
