Imphal, November 23 2012: A five-day training camp of in-service teachers on 'Introducing cultural Inputs in Curriculum' commenced from today at Manipur Public School, Koirengei.

The inauguration programme of the camp organised by Directorate of Education (S) was held with Ministry of Culture's Deputy Director (CCRT) Anil Kohli and Special Secretary (Education) H Deleep Singh as the chief guest and functional president respectively while Director (Art& Culture) Dr K Sobita Devi graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

While Anil Kohli stated that as students need to be imparted knowledge on local culture teachers should utilise the training programme in a purposeful manner, Dr K Sobita pledged all possible assistance by the Department of Art and Culture to develop school curriculum on culture.

As a part of the inaugural programme, artistes presented Pena Yakairol and Manipuri folk songs.
