Sit-in appeal for "Disturbance-free education zone" from July 25-27

Imphal, July 23 2024: As part of its "Disturbance-free education zone" campaign, the Coordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand will be organising a sit-in appeal protest from July 25 to 27, 2024 .

Addressing a press meet today at DESAM Mayai Loisang in Kwakeithel, Coordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand convenor M Somorjit said that the committee has been campaigning to make the education sector a disturbance free zone since 2008 .

"In continuation of the campaign, a sit-in appeal protest will be staged from July 25-27, 2024", said Somorjit while appealing to all the students, teachers and staff of educational institutions to participate in the protest.

He mentioned that protests will be held from 12.15 pm to 1.00 pm at school gates or other suitable locations.

Highlighting that a banner displaying 6 demands will be used in the protest, he shared that soft copies of the demands will be given to the students and the school authorities should print the banner (minimum size of 4x10) .
