Block Health Mela held at Tousem

Tamenglong, April 23 2022:
As part of state Government's 100 days action plan, District Health Society Tamenglong on Friday organised a Block Health Mela for Tousem Block at PHC Tousem, Tamenglong district.
The Health Mela was inaugurated by Water Resources and Relief & Disaster Management Minister Awangbow Newmai in the presence of Namsinrei Panmei, caretaker chairman ADC Tamenglong; ADC executive member, TP Sanjeuying; Paul Nangsa, SDO Tousem; CMO Tamenglong, Dr Gracy and Dr Sunil, DIO Tamenglong.
Speaking on the occasion, Awangbow Newmai stated that being the representative of Tamei AC he will do his best to bring change and development in the constituency.
He also urged the people to take the benefits of different Government's schemes including the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) .
Dr Gracy said that District Health Society Tamenglong decided to conduct the health mela to facilitate the most deprived sections of the district.
She also thanked the Water Resources Minister for taking part in the health mela despite the heavy rain and deplorable road condition.
During the health mela, awareness was provided for different health programmes and prevention of various communicable and non communicable diseases.
Different stalls were opened and free treatment, medicines and immunisation facilities were provided at the mela.
As part of the Block Health Mela, District Food Safety Officer Tamenglong also gave awareness of the 'Eat Right Movement' in India.
Demonstrations were conducted by officials and staff of the department on food safety testing.
Covid vaccination of children from 12 to 14 years of Wisdom School was also conducted along with distribution of Deworming tablets to the children present at the Mela.
Ultrasound for 55 people were also examined.
It may be mentioned that Awangbow Newmai also provided financial assistance to a team of medical staff who were involved in an accident on the way to PHC Tousem on Thursday.
