College teachers' associations reiterate demand for implementation of 7th UGC pay scale

The executive committee of All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) conducted an emergency meeting today and arrived at three resolutions.
As per a press release issued today, AMCTA demanded the Government to issue a clarification letter/order with regards to the query of the Accountant General (AG), Manipur.
Further they also demanded for the implementation of the 7th UGC scale of pay for college teachers before Christmas, December 25.Under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), college teachers should get the placement/promotion they are eligible for, the statement added.
AMCTA has also resolved to stand in solidarity with AIFUCTO on November 23 as they court arrest in front of the Chief Minister's residence tomorrow in Punjab by donning a black badge.
The Federation of Government College Teachers' Associations (FEGOCTA) also has reiterated their stand to launch democratic forms of protest if 7th UGC pay slips are not issued by November 27 .
In a statement issued today, FEGOCTA said they don't want to disrupt the academic atmosphere of the colleges and appealed the Chief Minister to do the needful in this regard and issue the 7th UGC pay slip before November 27 .
