Shiroi cabbages to be available at Sanjenthong organic outlet from today

Imphal, August 22 2020: The Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) under the Manipur Horticulture and Soil Conservation, procured cabbages and other fresh vegetables from the farmers of Shiroi village in Ukhrul district which will be made available to the public at the organic outlet in Sanjenthong from tomorrow.

After the imposition of lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, farmers have been faced with the dilemma of selling their produce.

To ease this problem faced by the farmers of the State, MOMA have been buying vegetables and fruits from farmers of different areas and making it available to the people through company agencies and organic stores as well as exporting the goods to other States.

As part of this undertaking, MOMA has procured organic cabbages and other fresh vegetables from the farmers of Shiroi village, Ukhrul which will be made available from tomorrow at its organic outlet in Sanjenthong.

The goods were transported to Imphal on a Tata DI today.

The Shiroi village headman expressed joy and gratitude to the Project Director of MOMA K Debadutta Sharma for helping the farmers in marketing their vegetables.
