Imphal, February 22 2018:
Congress MLA N Loken has urged the State Government to pull up and book all the people involved in assaulting an Inspector of CAF&PD Bishnupur office within 24 hours.
Taking advantage of zero hour, Loken said in the State Assembly today that around 30 women of Nambol AC came to the Bishnupur office of CAF&PD at around 2.30 pm of February 20.One Oinam (O) Inaobi w/o late Tomba of Nambol Lourembam who was among the group of women slapped Inspector Singhajit on the face and uttered many words about enlistment and cancellation of agents, Loken said.
But it later turned out that the women assailants were BJP workers.
Assaulting a Government employee by women workers of any political party is something highly unbecoming and very rare, the Congress MLA remarked.
Details of all the people involved in assaulting employees have been published in media.
As such, it would not be easy to search for them.
They must be pulled up and booked within 24 hours, Loken demanded.
Supplementing Loken, Kh Joykisan said that the matter is becoming a 'public issue and employees have launched pen-down strike from today under the aegis of the Indian Trade Union Congress.
This would seriously affect normal functions of CAF&PD Department.
Pointing out that absence of public toilets around the Assembly complex has been reported in Facebook and other social media, RK Imo urged the Government to open public toilets around the Assembly complex.
O Henry urged the Government to look into the matter of felling big trees that grew on the sides of Lamlong-Ukhrul road.
