The second round of the tripartite talk among the Government of lndia, KNO and UPF and the Government of Manipur was held on October 19 at New Delhi, said a statement issued jointly by the KNO and UPF yesterday.
As indicated in the 'outline of the political demand' during the first round of talks held on June 15, UPF and KNO submitted a detailed document titled 'A case statement for a separate State for the Kuki/Zo people' .
The meeting was chaired by Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary North East.
P Doungel ADGP (Inti) represented the Government of Manipur while a six member delegation of UPF led by Aaron Kipgen and a six member team KNO led by Seilen Haokip attended the meeting.
The political talk was unconditional and was within the Constitution oflndia, said the statement.
The proposed new State will include Sadar Hills, Chandel, Churachandpur and the ancestral lands of the Kuki/Zo people in Jiribam.
