Utilise benefits of welfare schemes properly: Moirang AC MLA

Bishnupur, July 21 2024: MLA of Moirang Assembly Constituency Thongam Shanti Singh has appealed to all to avail the benefits of the various welfare schemes and utilise the same appropriately.

He made the above appeal while speaking at the meeting of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiaries of four Gram Panchayats in Moirang AC today at Moirang Yumkhaibam Mandop.

The meeting was attended by 316 beneficiaries of PMAY.

Speaking at the occasion, the MLA briefed on the PMAY scheme initiated by the Government of India to provide housing for all low and moderate income residents.

He informed that funds have been credited for 1274 beneficiaries of the four Gram Panchayats for the first instalment of PMAY scheme this year.

Informing that funds will be provided to the eligible beneficiaries in three instalments, the MLA urged the beneficiaries to utilise the sanctioned funds properly for their welfare.

He maintained that the residents of four Gram Panchayats namely Phubala, Ngangkhalawai, Tronglaobi Terakhongshangbi and Kwakta have benefited from the scheme.

Though the State continues to be in a conflict situation, welfare activities are being taken up under the aegis of the Chief Minister, the MLA said.

He also sought support and cooperation from all for the successful implementation of the various welfare schemes of the Government.

Today's meeting was also attended by Hemam Ricky, Block Development Officer (BDO) Moirang Block; S Kumar, Political Affair Committee Chairman of NPP Moirang Block; L.Gopal, Moirang Kendra Progressive Front president and former Pradhans and Members of the four Gram Panchayats.
