'Customers not happy with bank functioning'

Ukhrul, April 18 2020: The functioning of UCO Bank, Ukhrul has left many of its customers in despair.

UCO Bank, which is located in the heart of Ukhrul Town at Viewland, functions without any standby power.

This correspondent while interacting with some of the customers who were standing in a queue waiting for transaction expressed their ordeal while in banking at UCO Bank, Ukhrul.

They expressed strong disappointment on the functioning of the bank, as they endured immense hardship and inconveniences while waiting for a transaction.

According to the reports of the customers, they came to the bank and formed a queue since 9.30 am onwards in a clement weather condition, suddenly the transaction got suspended on the allegation of an electric outage, stating that the bank has no alternative standby power, battery backup or generator, leaving many of the customers into hapless condition.

Another customer informed that just three days back, the timing for opening the bank was delayed for two hours despite the customers waiting on the corridor amidst lockdown, later the bank was opened with intervention from the Ukhrul police in the noon.

This lackadaisical functioning of the bank is beyond tolerance as the customers are left into distress and hapless situation on many occasions, added the customer.

The customers urged the higher authority to look into the grievances at the earliest in order to ensure worthy services to the people of Ukhrul.
