Students rally against shortage of teachers

Tamenglong, September 17 2012: THE ZELIANGRONG Students' Union, Tamenglong district today organized a students' rally against shortage of teachers in Tamenglong Higher Secondary school and Model Village Government High School and submitted an ultimatum to the Director of Education (s) Government of Manipur through the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong.

The ultimatum recounted that earlier the student body had submitted a petition to the Director of Education (s) Government of Manipur on 11 September, 2012 for immediate posting of regular Science and English lecturer in Tamenglong Higher Secondary school and Mathematics teacher for Model Village, Government High School, Tamenglong on or before 15 September 2012.However, till date nothing has been done for the welfare of the students.

The ultimatum signed by Achunna Pamei, Coordinator of ZSUTD further said that the ZSU has been compelled to picket both Tamenglong High Secondary School and Model Village Government High School until the demands are met.

He also appealed to the authority concerned for addressing the issue at the earliest possible in the interest of the suffering students.

The rally was flagged off from Mini Stadium Tamenglong and proceeded till the office of Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong where the ultimatum was served.
